Sow the Seeds, Nurture, Watch them Grow
Through creative and challenging experiences, we inspire our school community to develop resilience, a passion for learning and the courage to pursue our dreams. Within our nurturing environment and beyond, we live out Christian values, enabling all to flourish in the love of God.
Our vision at Brabourne is underpinned by Biblical scripture, in particular, Matthew 13:31-32 and The Parable of the Mustard Seed. The children associate the parable with their own potential. In the same way the smallest of seeds, can become the tallest of trees, they too can grow to be a confident, independent and well-rounded individual who can fulfil their potential and be the best they can be.
Jesus told them another parable: “The Kingdom of heaven is like this. A man takes a mustard seed and sows it in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it grows up, it is the biggest of all plants. It becomes a tree, so that birds come and make their nests in its branches.”
Our vision seeks to develop each child’s potential to the maximum, through the provision of the best education possible and a strong partnership between children, parents, carers, staff, governors and the wider community, including our local church and Diocese.
Like the roots of a tree, our Christian values are deeply embedded into the fabric of our school, creating a very distinctive ethos that underpins every thought, decision and action made. Like the branches of a tree, we encourage our school community to challenge itself, to reach outwards and upwards, showing compassion and tolerance for others – living in harmony, as well as bringing goodness to the world around them. In our school, bearing fruit simply means that everyone in the school community will be able to excel according to their God-given gifts. Like the tree, we gain the resilience and strength to support and shelter others.
Our school is a creative, forward thinking Church of England primary school which aims to allow every child and adult grow to reach their full potential and flourish. We work in partnership with families; we nurture self-belief and inspire a love of learning, encouraging all to become able and successful, through empowerment, and being responsible members of the community. The children are at the heart of our school community and our aim is for them to receive the very best education, academically, morally, socially and spiritually. We recognise the individuality of every one of our pupils, encouraging them to be independent learners and reflective thinkers, who make the right choices and stand up for other’s rights, learning to love God, the world and one another.
We allow our pupils to grow and flourish by providing creative, challenging and engaging curriculum which offers learning opportunities which motivate pupils to acquire a thirst for knowledge, overcome adversity, speak out and achieve their aspirations.
