Sow the Seeds, Nurture, Watch them Grow

Through creative and challenging experiences, we inspire our school community to develop resilience, a passion for learning and the courage to pursue our dreams. Within our nurturing environment and beyond, we live out Christian values, enabling all to flourish in the love of God.

Our vision at Brabourne is underpinned by Biblical scripture, in particular, Matthew 13:31-32 and The Parable of the Mustard Seed. The children associate the parable with their own potential. In the same way the smallest of seeds, can become the tallest of trees, they too can grow to be a confident, independent and well-rounded individual who can fulfil their potential and be the best they can be.

Jesus told them another parable: “The Kingdom of heaven is like this. A man takes a mustard seed and sows it in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it grows up, it is the biggest of all plants. It becomes a tree, so that birds come and make their nests in its branches.”

Our Vision

Our vision is rooted in the Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13:31–32), where Jesus teaches that from the smallest seed grows a great tree, providing shelter and life for all. This reminds us that even the smallest acts of faith, kindness, and learning can grow into something extraordinary when nurtured in love and community.

Our vision seeks to develop each child’s potential to the maximum, through the provision of the best education possible and a strong partnership between children, parents, carers, staff, governors and the wider community, including our local church and Diocese.

Like the roots of a tree in good soil, our Christian values are deeply embedded into the fabric of our school, creating a distinctive ethos that underpins every thought, decision and action. Like the branches of a tree, we encourage our school community to challenge itself, to reach upwards and outwards to God, showing compassion, hope and courage for others – living in harmony, and bringing goodness to the world around them.

As the mustard tree offers shade and support, we too aim to be a place where all can flourish and find strength. In our school, bearing fruit means that everyone in the school community can excel according to their God-given gifts. Like the tree, we gain the resilience and strength to become fully fledged — supporting and sheltering others. We aim for our school to be a harmonious, nurturing community where everyone thrives.

Who We Are

Our school is a creative, forward-thinking Church of England primary school which aims to allow every child and adult to reach their full potential and flourish. We work in partnership with families, our parish church, and the Diocese to nurture self-belief and inspire a love of learning, encouraging all to become confident, responsible, and compassionate members of the community.

The children are at the heart of our school community, and our aim is for them to receive the very best education — academically, morally, socially, and spiritually. We recognise the individuality of every one of our pupils, encouraging them to be independent learners and reflective thinkers who make wise choices and stand up for the rights and dignity of others, learning to love God, the world, and one another.

We celebrate the uniqueness of every individual, valuing diversity and inclusion so that all can flourish. We nurture the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of our pupils and staff, understanding these as essential to the fullness of life that Jesus promised in John 10:10.
